What to consider when choosing memory.

Memory stores data temporarily, keeping the files and apps you’re running open and available.

M-series chips include unified memory, which is more efficient than traditional RAM. It allows apps to efficiently share data between the CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine — so everything you do is fast and fluid. The more memory you have, the more apps you can run simultaneously, the larger the AI models you can use, and the better everything will perform.

Can I add memory later?

Unified memory can’t be upgraded later. If you think you’ll need additional memory in the future, choose a higher capacity.

How much memory you need depends on how you will use your Mac.

16GB

Ideal for browsing online, streaming movies, editing photos and videos, gaming, and running multiple everyday productivity apps.

24GB

Recommended if you will be multitasking across a large number of memory-intensive apps, including audio and video production workflows.

32GB

Best if you typically work on advanced projects that require enormous files and content libraries.

What to consider when choosing storage.

Mac uses fast storage for your apps, documents, photos, movies, music, and other files and libraries.

How much storage you need depends on how you use your Mac. The more storage you have, the more files your Mac can hold and the faster it can access them when needed. A good way to figure out your storage needs is to check how much you’re using on your current computer. If you’re near your limit, it’s a good idea to consider a larger capacity.

How to check your storage

• On a Mac, select  > System Settings > General > Storage
• On a Windows PC, select Start > Settings > System > Storage

Can I add storage later?

Internal storage can’t be upgraded later. If you think you’ll need additional storage in the future, it’s a good idea to upgrade now.

Find the perfect display for your workflow.

iMac is available with two display options, standard and nano‑texture glass. Both of the 4.5K Retina displays offer up to 500 nits of brightness and great visibility, even in bright settings. The nano‑texture display further reduces glare, so it’s ideal for working in challenging light.

Standard glass

Engineered for low reflectivity so you can effortlessly read every word and see every vivid detail.

Nano-texture glass

Choose this option to drastically reduce reflections and glare in bright spaces while maintaining an excellent viewing experience. It comes with a polishing cloth that’s made of soft, nonabrasive material for safe cleaning.
